Rocío Perez
The Soprano Rocío Pérez starts from an early age her training in music, clarinet and drama realizing at the 14 age at the Teatro Real in Madrid as Sophie in The Little Sweep by Britten. She begins her training in singing with Elena Valdelomar and finishes at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid with Victoria Manso. Rocio has attended vocal master classes by Natalie Dessay, Ana Luisa Chova, Dolora Zajick, June Anderson, Carlos Chausson and others. Starting her professional way, she takes part in operas like Cinderella by P.M.Davies, Dido and Aeneas by H.Purcel and Falstaff by Verdi in different Spanish theatres. Likewise she is a soloist in the Cantania ́s Project at L ́Auditori de Barcelona during five seasons. Also she collaborates as a soloist in the world premiere of Bildlos / weglos by Wolfgang Rihm in MITO ́s Festival in Italy.
During the 2014/15/16 seasons, she was a full member of the Operastudio in Strasbourg (Opéra national du Rhin) where she participated in productions such as Il Matrimonio Segreto Carolina by Cimarosa, La belle ou bois dormant La fée bleue by Respighi, Ariane et Barbe-Bleue Ygraine by Dukas, Cendrillon Anastasie by Wolf-Ferrari, Pénélope Phylo by Fauré, La Cambiale di Matrimonio Fanny by Rossini and Tebaldo Don Carlo by Verdi. She also participated in the guest performances of the Strasbourg Operastudio at the Atelier-Théâtre Louis Jouvet (Paris). In 2016 Rocio sings Le Feu, La Princesse and Rossignol L'enfant et les sortilèges by Ravel as well as Cleone Ermione by Rossini at the Lyon Opera House and at Théâtre des Champs Elysées Paris and recently sangs Amore/Damigella L'incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi in Versailles Opera House.
Rocío Pérez was given the opportunity to sing repeatedly under the baton of conductors such as: Alberto Zedda, Patrick Davin, Vincent Monteil, Antonino Fogliani, Jose Ramon Encinar, Martyn Brabbins and Daniele Callegari. Moreover she was directed by Olivier Py, Robert Carsen, James Bonas, Christophe Gayral, Marie-Eve Signeyrole and Valentina Carrasco.
In 2017 Rocío is awared with 2 special prizes in “36th International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition” and also the 3th prize and most promising young prize in “I Wettbewerb Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” in 2016. Before she was awared with 2nd prize, most promising young prize and audience prize in the XXVII “Concours de chant Lyrique de Marmande” and the 1st prize and most promising young prize in the XII edition for the international competition “Luis Mariano”. She has also received 2nd prize and most promising young prize in the IX International competition of singers “Villa de Colmenar Viejo” and the 2nd prize in the Young Musicians competition in Spain.
During 2016/17/18 seasons Rocío sang in theatres like La Fenice as Berenice L'occasione fa il Ladro, at Deutsche Oper Berlin as Queen of the Night Die Zauberflöte, at Opera de Lyon as Feu, La Princesse y Rossignol L'enfant et les sortilèges and Amore/Damigella L'incoronazione di Poppea, in Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées as Cleone Ermione and at Opera de Metz as Norina Don Pasquale; also she take part in the world premiere Policias y Ladrones by Tomás Marco as La hija at Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
In 2018/19 season Rocío reprises the role of Queen Die Zauberflöte of the night at Deutsche Oper Berlin and at Semperoper Dresden. She make her debut as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor at Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Nanneta Falstaff at Teatro Real de Madrid and as Olympia Les contes d´Hoffmann at Finnish National Opera.
