Erwin Schrott

Acclaimed in the most prestigious opera houses in the world, he began his operatic career at a young age. He won prestigious competitions early on, such as the Carlos Gomez Competition, the Juventudes Musicales and the Plácido Domingos Operalia Competition, which brought him international fame. Since then, Erwin Schrott has been a guest at numerous major opera houses and concert halls, including the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Royal Opera House, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, La Monnaie in Brussels, Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Théâtre Antique d'Orange, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Opéra national de Paris, Washington National Opera, the State Operas in Vienna, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin, the Royal Opera and the Salzburg Festival. His interpretations of Don Giovanni and Leporello Don Giovanni have already established themselves as recognized references in the Mozart repertoire. Other of his roles, e.g. Pagano I Lombardi alla prima crociata, the title roles in Le nozze di Figaro, Attila and Boito's Mefistofele, Banquo Macbeth, Escamillo Carmen, Procida Les vêpres siciliennes as well as his performances in L'elisir d'amore, La gioconda, Aida, Faust and La damnation de Faust received critical acclaim.

Erwin Schrott is an exclusive artist with Sony Classical, where he recorded albums such as Arias and Rojotango, which was awarded the »ECHO Klassik« prize.
