Ulrik Gad

He graduated from the Danish National School of performing Arts (Den Danska scenkonstskolan) in 2001 and works mainly in Scandinavian theaters and operas. At the Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen he was responsible for the lighting in a number of operas, ballets, musicals and plays, including Orestes, The Merry Widow, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Le nozze di Figaro and Cabaret. He regularly works with directors such as Elisabeth Linton, Kasper Holten, Carlus Padrissa, Herbert Fritsch and Katie Mitchell. A long-term collaboration with the French opera director Mariame Clément took him to the Teatro Real with the play Achille in Sciro, Cendrillon (Opéra national de Paris), Maria Stuarda, Anna Bolena, Roberto Devereux (Grand Théâtre de Genève), Don Quichotte (Bregenz Festival) and The Fairy Queen (Theater an der Wien).
