Luigi Prividali
Luigi Prividali was an Italian librettist known especially for having written in 1812 the libretto for L'occasione fa il ladro for Gioachino Rossini.
He was a lawyer but he resigned from the profession to devote himself completely to the theater and wrote more than twenty librettos. In addition, he was impresario at several theaters and for many years he even gained reputation as critic of theater. From that position, he was one of the most excited with Rossini’s work, of whom he was also a personal acquaintance.
