Donald Cox
He joined the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in 1983 on an ABTT course and became full time lighting technician in 1989. He has been involved in many operas and ballet productions at the Royal Opera House as well as in contemporary projects such as the Notting Hill Carnival Parade. He has worked with some of the world's best set and lighting designers on world premieres of operas and ballets in several countries. He has worked in many of the world's major operas houses, including those of New York and Paris. Shows he has re-lit inlcude Wozzeck (ROH), and Apollo, L'Après-midi d'un faune, Manon and End of Tiem (Royal Ballet). He lit The Truth About Love in the Linbury Studio at the Royal Opera House in 2009. He has led seminars for young adults aimed at introducing them to the technical side of working in theatre.
His last work at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, was the Lighting Design of the 2010 Summer Performance. Later that year he became the first Head of Lighting at the Royal Opera House, Muscat, Oman.
