Marcelo Buscaino
Born in Brazil, he made his Theatre and Art History studies in Cologne, Paris and London and directed various revivals at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he worked as Staff Director. As a free-lancing Assistant Director, he already collaborated with Michael Haneke, Robert Lepage, Peter Sellars, Christoph Marthaler, Alain Platel and Johan Simons among other directors and worked in some major European Opera Theatres, like Liceu Barcelona, Teatro Real Madrid, Glyndebourne and the Salzburg Festival and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. He directed the world premiere of After Hours, an electro-opera based in Scorsese’s homonymous film, at the Berghain Berlin and is preparing Lullaby for Predators, a music play told and sung along Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder.
