Luigi Balocchi was an italian librettist of opera, born in Vercelli, in the Italian Piedmont. 

In 1802 he moves to Paris, to work as a poet and director for the Théâtre Italien, where he was librettist, among others, for Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims and Le siège de Corinthe.
