Anselmo C. Carreño

Belonging to a wealthy Segovia family of carpet manufacturers, he was one of the most prolific and successful playwrights and librettists of zarzuela of his time. 
His most important lyrical works were written in collaboration with playwright Luis Fernandez de Sevilla, and include La Vaquerita (Rosillo), La Prisionera (Serrano y Balaguer), La del Soto del Parral (Soutullo y Vert), La Mejor del Puerto  (Alonso) and La Cautiva (Jesús Guridi). 
He also collaborated with Francisco Ramos de Castro. Among this works, it highlights their collaboration with Sorozábal on La del Manojo de Rosas
