Stanislas de Barbeyrac
Stanislas de Barbeyrac began studying with Lionel Sarrazin at the Bordeaux Conservatoire in 2004 before joining the Atelier Lyrique at the Paris Opera in 2008. He has won numerous prizes including the Prix du Cercle Carpeaux and the Prix Lyrique de l’AROP and in 2011 he was the winner of the Queen Elizabeth International Competition in Brussels. He began his operatic career in French opera houses (Nice, Tours, Metz, Marseille and Avignon) and sang the role of Lenski from Eugene Onegin at the Théâtre du Chatelet in J.F. Zygel’s Leçon de Musique and with Opéra-Éclaté; Gastone in La Traviata and Borsa in Rigoletto at the Chorégies d’Orange. He has given recitals in Marseille and Tours, performed in concert in Les Illuminations by Britten in Lille and Mendelssohn’s Elijah in Paris and at the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu and sung the roles of Aucassin in Aucassin and Nicolette with the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie (recorded on Timpani). More recently, he has interpreted Narraboth Salome, Walter von der Vogeweide Tannhäuser and Evandre Alceste at the Paris Opera; Cassio Otello in Toulon, the Knight and a Dubious Individual Der Ferne Klang by Franz Schreker at Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg, Alfredo La Traviata – role debut – at the Esplanade in Saint-Etienne and Tamino Die Zauberflöte at the 2014 Aix-en-Provence Festival. He made his Covent Garden debut as Arbace in Idomeneo, and sang Narraboth Salome in São Paulo, Pâris La Belle Hélène in Avignon, Davide Penitente in Salzburg conducted by Marc Minkowski, Tamino Die Zauberflöte with the Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Ivan Fischer, Lyonnel Le roi Arthus and Admète Alceste at the Paris Opera. He is making his debut at the Amsterdam National Opera in the role of the Chevalier de la Force Dialogues des carmélites and has sung Tamino Die Zauberflöte at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva. Stanislas de Barbeyrac was nominated “Révélation Lyrique” in the 2014 Victoire de la Musique Classique Awards.
