Dimitris Tiliakos
Dimitris Tiliakos, baritone, was born in Rhodes and after studying the viola, he began his vocal training with Kostas Paskalis at the "Athenaeum" conservatory of Athens.
He won the "Maria Callas Scholarship" which allowed him to continue his studies in Opera and Lied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München where he was awarded with the music degree Meisterklassendiplom for outstanding artistic performance.
Shortly thereafter he made his debut at the Prinzregententheater in Munich in the role of Conte Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and was awarded the W.D.Fassbaender prize for young opera singers. Between 1997 and 2003 Dimitris was a member of the Nuremberg state opera where he performed the major parts of the baritone repertory.
From 2004 he quickly made a name for himself through a series of guest performances at major opera houses and concert halls. Recent engagements include Opera National de Paris (Don Carlo, Macbeth), London Royal Opera House (Don Carlos), Opera de Monte Carlo (La Bohème), Sala Sao Paulo, Teatro La Fenice (Manon Lescaut), Polish National Opera (Otello, Carmen), Athens Megaron (Simon Boccanegra), Tokyo Opera City, Greek National Opera (Don Giovanni, Carmen, Il Trovatore), Tchaikovsky Bolshoi Hall Moscow, Theater Bern (Carmen), Metropolitan Opera (La Bohème), Teatro Real Madrid (Les Huquenots and Macbeth), Bolshoi Opera (Don Giovanni), Opera de Nice (Il Trovatore and Simon Boccanegra), Theatre de la Monnaie (Il Trovatore and Rigoletto), Staatsoper Hamburg (Manon Lescaut), Cologne Opera (La Forza del destino), Nederlandse Opera (La Traviata), Luxemburg Opera (La Forza del destino), Athens Megaron (Macbeth), Semper Oper of Dresden (Rigoletto), Teatro Liceu Barcelona ( The Legend of the invisible city of Kitez by Rimsky-Korsakov).
In the season 2014-2015, Dimitris embarked on a recital tour of Schubert’s Winterreise, and his future staged projects, include the role of Rigoletto at the Bolshoi Theater Moscow and the roles of Duke and Lancelotto Malatesta in Rachmaninov’s Skupoj Rytsar and Francesca Da Rimini at the Theatre de la Monnaie in Brussels.
This season he sings the role of Giorgio Germont, La Traviata at the Royal Danish Opera and Macbeth under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda at Opernhaus Zurich. He will also return to the Perm Opera for La Traviata and La Monnaie, Brussels, to perform Amonasro in Aída.
