Andrea Carè
Andrea Carè was among the last students who had the privilege to study with Luciano Pavarotti, and is a protégé of legendary soprano Raina Kabaivanska. He was also the winner of the Spoleto International Opera Competition in 2005.
Despite his young age, Carè has already sang in some of the most important theatres in the world such the Teatro alla Scala, Covent Garden, Gran Teatre del Liceu, San Carlo, Deutsche Oper, La Fenice, Bolshoi Theater of Moscow, Teatro del L'opera di Roma, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Royal Swedish Opera, Petruzzelli di Bari, Comunale di Bologna, Opéra National du Rhin de Strasbourg, Teatro Regio di Torino. Carè has shared the stage with many great artists such as Raina Kabaivanska, Placido Domingo, Anna Caterina Antonacci, Leo Nucci, Elina Garanca, Juan Pons, Jennifer Larmore, Maria Guleghina, Sonia Ganassi, Carmela Remigio, Andrea Rost, Daniela Dessì, Barbara Frittoli, Vittorio Grigolo, Bruno Bartoletti, Gianandrea Noseda, Paolo Arrivabeni, Pier Giorgio Morandi, Daniele Callegari, Evelino Pidò, Pinchas Steinberg, Lionel Bringuier, Luca Ronconi, Pierluigi Pizzi, Ermanno Olmi, Hugo de Ana, Federico Tiezzi.
He has made many important debuts including Ismaele Nabucco at Covent Garden, Cavaradossi Tosca at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, Sigurd at Victoria Hall in Geneva, Gustavo Un ballo in maschera at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, Don José Carmen at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin and the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Don Carlo at the Bolshoi Opera in Moscow and Macduff Macbeth at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
This year he sang the role of Pollione in Norma at the Grand Teatre del Liceu and the Opéra National de Bordeaux, and Giasone in Cherubini's Medea in a live streaming production of the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
Carè's future engaments include the role of Cavaradossi in Tosca in St. Margarethen Opera Festival and the title role of Don Carlo at the Bolshoi Theater of Moscow and at the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg. His upcoming role debuts include Enzo Grimaldo in La Gioconda (Beijing Arts Performing Center), Radamés in Aída and Conte Maurizio di Sassonia in Adriana Lecouvreur (Théâtre de la Monnaie de Bruxelles), Loris Ipanov in Fedora (Royal Swedish Opera) and Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana (Théâtre de la Monnaie de Bruxelles).
